To some soccer is just a sport. For me, it changed my life.

I grew up in a single-parent home filled with addiction, abuse, and poverty. Why didn’t I fall into this same cycle? One big influence was soccer. In high school I did the bare minimum to get good enough grades to be able to play soccer. Often I wonder what my life could’ve looked like if I hadn’t had soccer to direct my energy, goals and discipline.

I started playing soccer in junior high. I was competitive, but didn’t know that I was good enough to have a future with soccer. I didn’t believe in myself at first. When I finally had the chance to play D1, I didn’t meet NCAA regulations. No one taught me what I needed to do to prepare or to be seen so that I could play college or pro soccer. No one taught me proper nutrition.

Somehow I found my way. I’ve been blessed to have the opportunities I’ve had to play—even some at the pro level, but I have also missed out on many opportunities. This is why I started this business:

I want to help young players know now what I didn’t know when I started to play. I want to help them make their next goal—small or big—a reality. I want to mentor them to develop high-level skills and discover excellent opportunities that I wasn’t aware of. Whether it is to help them use soccer to escape from a troubled environment or to simply take already-good players and turn them into all that they can be: I will help them open the door to a bright soccer future.

I love soccer. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. I play it and teach it whenever I can. But I have also discovered that the skills and discipline I have learned through soccer have transferred to every other aspect of my life—my education, my profession, and my relationship with my wife and children.
